Roman's Game. Last updated September 24, 2026.

Roman is a fictional character. This game is for a general audience. It does not ask your age. There is no account server and no advertising.

What stays on your device

The game saves your progress in this device's local storage (the browser or the app's localStorage). That includes:

Deleting the app, or clearing the site data, deletes this save. There is no cloud backup.

Anonymous play counts (added September 29, 2026)

The website version counts how the game is used, without knowing who you are. When the game opens, a level is cleared (with its board size and time), you come back on another day, or you tap 👍/👎 (with a short note if you write one), the game sends that with a random number made once on your device. The server adds a rough place (city, region, country) from the request and the time. We do not collect your name, email, exact location or IP address, and the game never asks for location permission. You can switch this off in Save & settings. The iPhone and Android apps do not send it.

Sharing

If you share a score or a challenge, the game builds a link. The link can include your display name, the email you saved on this device, your message, and your score. Copy, Messages, Mail, or another app you choose then handles that link. The game itself does not send the message.

Sound and voice

Sound effects and Roman's voice clips are files inside the app. They play on your device. When voice comments are on, the game also uses your device's built-in text-to-speech (the system speech feature). That speech stays on the device. The game does not record your microphone.

Coin purchases

On the website, coin packs can be bought with a card. Stripe hosts the payment page and processes the card payment. The game does not see or store your card number. After you pay, the site asks Stripe whether that payment succeeded, then adds the coins to the save on this device. The checkout id is stored so the same payment is not counted twice: once on the site’s server, and once in this browser.

In the iPhone and Android apps, buying coins uses Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not the website checkout. The app uses the capacitor-plugin-cdv-purchase plugin to talk to StoreKit on iPhone and Google Play Billing on Android.

This version does not send purchase receipts to the developer and does not use a third-party receipt checker. Apple or Google still receive the purchase as part of their normal checkout. The plugin can send device details (such as operating system and model) to a receipt checker if one is turned on. It is not turned on in this version.

Coins are added only after the store finishes a successful purchase. If you cancel, if the payment is still pending, or if it fails, no coins are added. Coin packs are consumable: once a purchase is finished, the store does not give those coins back through “Restore”. Restore only finishes a payment that was charged but not yet added.

What this game does not do

Children

The game is made for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect information for an advertising profile. A parent can use the store's Ask to Buy / family payment approval. A purchase stays pending until it is approved, and coins are added only when the store finishes it.

Questions
